If you are an adult who has suffered injury as a result of negligent medical or dental treatment you have a period of three years in which to bring a claim.

If you are a child who has suffered injury as a result of negligent medical or dental treatment you then the claim is not subject to the three year time limit: he/she can bring a claim any time up until the day before their 21^st birthday (although the bringing of the claim should not be delayed).
